Welcome to the Upper Etowah River Alliance's

Join us on a Water Adventure to learn more
about the Amazing Etowah River!

The Etowah River is an amazing water source. Not only does it give us water for drinking and washing, but it is also home to some one-of-a-kind creatures. Three fish – the Etowah Darter, Amber Darter and Cherokee Darter – are so rare they are on the federal threatened or endangered list. The Etowah Darter is found ONLY in the Etowah River; nowhere else in the World!
