Robin Dake, Watershed Director
Robin graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Geology. Take that education, mix it with a passion for the outdoors and 11 years of assistant director-ing at a camp and conference center, and you have the makings of a Watershed Director!
At Mikell Conference Center, Robin helped begin its environmental education center, brought the summer camp program up to industry standards, and worked with hundreds of kids in the summer. Twice she served as Interim Director, learning a wide variety of skills, including how to deal with an invasion feral pigs. Also, during her time in the camping world, Robin volunteered with the American Camping Association as a Standards Visitor and a member of the Public Policy Committee.
She and her husband, Rock, met while hiking the Appalachian Trail. These days most of their adventures are closer to home, hanging out with their two daughters, Tory and Lacy. In her free time, Robin enjoys hiking, yoga and photography. |
