Etowah River Clean Up Fall 2026
October 24 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

2026 Fall Etowah River Cleanup
Join us to clean up the Etowah River and the land around it! Every fall, volunteers across Georgia head to their local rivers for Rivers Alive. This is our chance to give back to the river that runs through the heart of Canton. No experience is needed, and volunteers of all ages are welcome.
How the day works
- 9 a.m.: Meet at the UERA office, check in and grab breakfast.
- Morning: Pick up your supplies and head out in teams to clean up along the river.
- Lunchtime: Return to the office for lunch with your fellow volunteers.
What to wear and bring
- Old clothes and boots or shoes that can get wet and muddy
- Work gloves and a trash picker, if you have them
- A refillable water bottle and sunscreen
We’ll provide
- Gloves, trash bags and a limited number of trash pickers
- Breakfast and lunch for all volunteers
- Rivers Alive cleanup T-shirts, while supplies last
Stay for the whole day or come for just a few hours. Every bag of trash we pull out is trash that won’t wash downstream.
